Update on Jonathan's speech therapy

As I posted in September, Jonathan was to be evaluated by the school system to see if he'll qualify for services provided by the school. We did get evaluated and found out last week that he does NOT qualify for their services. So, as of last week (when he turned 3!!), he is no longer in any therapy for speech or occupational therapy. We are ok with this and feel that Jonathan has come a long way since starting therapy a year ago. We are so grateful for the ARC and all the services they provided for us. We will miss them SO much and wish everyone that works with them well.

On another note, we were able to get Jonathan into the ENT to have his tonsils and aednoids looked at and they will DEFINETLY have to come out. The Dr. didn't even send him to XRay b/c it was THAT obvious that his tonsils were too big - and if the tonsils are too big then the aednoids are more than likely to be bigger than normal as well. He also thinks that this will make a HUGE difference in Jonathan's articulation and that it could do alot of great things for him. Who would have thought that the reason he wouldn't close his mouth - thus drooling too much - was b/c he couldn't breath through his nose!!! I feel really bad that we didn't realize this sooner but I'm grateful that we know it now. SO, we are hoping to schedule the surgery for April. We'll keep everyone updated as that gets closer.
