Aunt Andi's Married!!!

So, this past Friday, June 19th, Brian's sister, Andi, married her best friend, Scotty. We were so excited to be a part of this special day in their lives and now we get to share just a little bit of it with each of you.
We loaded up the car on Wednesday so we could get there early to partake in the Bachelorette and Bachelor parties. The boys were SO excited to get there as I had been telling them that we would stay in a hotel and it had a pool - that was the FIRST thing they wanted to do!!! Anyone surprised? So, as soon as we got settled at the hotel, we went for a swim in the pool....The boys really aren't afraid of the pool and would have stayed in the water the whole time if we'd let them. Thank you, Aunt Andi, for picking a great place to say with a pool!!!

On Thursday, I had a Bridesmaids luncheon at the lovely home of a dear friend of Andi's. It was so special to see everyone that meant so much to her and had encouraged her over the past 9 years (that's how long Scotty's been around). All of the bridesmaid's were sister in laws to Andi and that was so special..While I was at the luncheon, Brian hung out with the boys - you guessed it - by the pool AND they played some putt putt golf (which was another neat option that the hotel provided). Our little ones are also great golfers - no matter what their technique looks like...

Thursday evening was the Rehearsal....

(Reid, Jackson and Everett practicing their "walk down the aisle" as ring bearers.)

(Aunt Andi taking a pic with Jackson)

(Jonathan doing what he does best...play with his favorite truck. And, yes, he IS laying on the steps at the front of the church. Thank goodness this was just rehearsal!!)

The rehearsal was followed by a special party for those that Andi and Scotty work with and teach for(for those of you who don't know, they have taught and coached together at a private school in Lawrenceville for the past 9ish years). (our precious boys...)

(Jonathan with Aunt Andi)

(All the nephews - ages 5-3 - WHEW!!!)

(The happy couple)

(The family together for a final picture before she is a "Strong")

Friday was the BIG DAY and the morning was spent relaxing by the pool with Matt, Kadie, Everett, Reid, Beth and Haleigh...

Then it was off to the wedding.....

It's time to go off to the reception for some dancing and fun!!!!
(Jackson's shoe fell off - a sure sign that he is ready to boogie!!)
(Jackson and Everett "cuttin a rug")

("You make me want to SHOUT!")

Mr. and Mrs. Scotty Strong

When I think back on the weekend, it's mostly a blur. But, there were so many memorable times and we had such a good time. Some of the highlights from the weekend were....

  • Playing in the pool and putt putt with the boys - they REALLY thought we were on a vacation!

  • Seeing family that we haven't seen in 9 years or more!

  • Watching Scotty attempt to hold back tears as his beautiful bride walked down the aisle toward him

  • Listening to our oldest nephew (on the Laughlin side) recite by memory 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 at the wedding - WAY TO GO EVERETT!!!

  • Jackson saying that Aunt Andi looked like a princess when he first saw her

  • Scotty and Andi walking out of the ceremony to the Star Wars theme song - that was priceless!!

  • Andi doing a "whoop whoop" with her bouquet when the pastor announced them "Husband and Wife"

  • Jonathan giggling at Jackson

  • Jonathan playing with the trucks at the rehearsal - what else did we really expect him to do?

  • Jonathan falling asleep in Papa's arms by the pool the first night we were there - poor thing was so tired!

  • All the little Laughlin boys dancing at the reception

  • The following conversation on the way home between Brian and Jackson: Jackson: Dad, when will I get married? Brian: When you meet a hot chic (anyone surprised by that comment?) Jackson: Will there be cake there too?! How cute!!!

  • The glow that Andi had the entire time - she was so excited to finally be marrying her best friend!!

  • All the new friends we gained - we welcome you with open arms, Strong Family!!

  • Having my mom, sister and niece there to enjoy the festivities

I have one more thing to upload. It's the best thing to me and I'm hoping it will work. This is how the reception ended and it couldn't of gone any better...

Aunt Andi and Uncle Scotty, We love you both SO much and are so happy for you!! May God bless you as you begin your lives together as one!! Thanks for making this weekend so great for our family! Hope to see you soon!!! We love you!!
