The boys wanted to start off by looking at all of the animals and looked at the birds first...not sure if you can see the macaw in the tree behind them...it was SO beautiful!!

Then it was off to see the kangaroos. When we first got there, all of the kangaroos were laying down and I really wanted the boys to see them stand up and hop on their back legs. Well our luck happened to be good today!! As we were watching them, a truck came down the road that is behind the kangaroos and it scared them! They immediately jumped up and hopped across the field to "safety". They literally hopped right by us and we could have touched them if we wanted. It was so cool!!
Of course, no trip to the zoo is complete without riding the train ($6 for all of us.....ahem!!)..
My favorite animal...the beautiful flamingos!!!
The lion - look how BIG his head is!!! He was perched up on that rock like he was KING OF THE JUNGLE!! (wait - he IS king of the jungle - ha ha)....
Our family favorite - THE TIGER!!!! Another lucky moment for us...we arrived at the tiger just as the trainers were giving him some milk and spraying him for flies, etc. so we got a really close up look at him. She even had him stand on his hind legs and we was massive....we were just a few feet away (and safely behind the glass) from him!!! It was awesome to see him so close!!
Then it was break time at the splash pad (hence the reason we wore our swim trunks to the zoo). It was a nice way to cool off and have some fun too...
After our break, we headed to see the ponies, llamas, goats, pigs, etc....it was one smelly place!!
Then it was time to take MY MONKEYS home.....
